Dedicated to the hazaar Avatar questions we saw in every quiz at Nihilanth 🙂

Brief Review of Nihilanth 2010:

Amit Pandeya <Biz-Tech Quiz QM> and Satyajit Chetri<India Quiz QM> deserve a special mention for some fantastic research they put in for their questions. You could see the reason why Amit Pandeya is the best Business QM in the country,apart from Mitesh Agarwal. Purely by content. <we did have a crib against Amit since he was responsible for us coming 2nd, not 1st, but then we are just being typical quizzers 😉 >

Joy Bhattacharya conducted a reasonably decent quiz <considering what ‘celebrity quizmasters pass off these days as quizzes>. However, what was unacceptable was- 1) the fact that he read out questions from a piece of paper, since he was choosing the questions based on the team, 2) the quiz had too many sitters.

The Lone Wolf  as always was a good quiz. Shamanth has understood what a lone wolf quiz should always have – workable questions. He conducted the Lone Wolf last year too.

The MELA Quiz was conducted by a former student of IIM-A. And it was definitely the most disappointing one <am saying this inspite of my team winning it>. I just don’t understand, how you would invite Satya to Nihilanth and not get him to do the MELA quiz. He invented it for God’s sake. 🙂

The final quiz was the Sports Quiz by Krishnamurthi < a.k.a Goach, from IIM-A  and of the infamous Intel Inside-Mental Outside team>. We could not stay for the quiz since we had a train to catch. Also, honestly me and Debasish <yes, we couldn’t find a 3rd member for any of the quizzes> never fare well at a sporst quiz. But from what we hear, it was a well-researched quiz.  No surprises there.

All in all, a good, well organised quiz fest , though it didn’t match up to the fantastic quizzes we saw last year at IIT-B.
