Definitely not really an exhaustive list and technically, not completely accurate. But still, there is a connection. What?

Cracked only by ManishA. Brilliant!!

Answer: Charles Laughton directed only one film – Night of the Hunter. Chandra Bardot only directed Don (1978). These are two of the greatest films, which have been the respective director’s only films. Chandra Barot though did direct e Bengali film in the nineties, but for a long time he was remembered as the director who made only one film. <See, I’m not saying that Bengali films don’t count 🙂 )

Answer: Fictional characters who have Evil Twins. Austin Powers -Dr.Evil. Flash – Cobalt Blue. Prof Charles Xavier – Cassandra Nova. Phoebe – Ursula. Bart – Hugo Simpson. Doppelganger is a bigger set, and thats why I didn’t include Garthe Knight, etc. But still, an acceptable answer. 🙂

One part of  what was supposedly inspired by these two?

Only Mrinalini cracked the answer, though from a different <valid> angle.

Answer: Frank La Salle was accused of kidnapping 12-year-old Florence Horner from her and forcing her to submit to sexual relations while traveling the continent. This is said to be an inspiration for one part of Nabaokov’s Lolita. link. Though Mrinalini spoke of the other famous story – Charlie Chaplin & Lita Grey which was also said to have inspired Lolita.
